A case of false satanic ritual abuse on Oprah?
The recent flurry of controversy over James Frey's falsified memoir A Million Little Pieces that Oprah nominated for her book club has prompted The American Thinker to investigate a time when the talk show host featured women who claimed to suffer from satanic ritual abuse (SRA).

"RACHEL", Was Used In Satan Worship Rituals: Yes, my family has an extensive family tree, and they keep track of who's been involved and who hasn't been involved, and it’s gone back to like 1700.
OPRAH: And so you were ritually abused.
"RACHEL": Right. I was born into a family that believes in this.
OPRAH: Does everyone else think it's a nice Jewish family? From the outside, you appear to be a nice Jewish girl?
"RACHEL": Definitely.
OPRAH: And you all are worshipping the devil inside the home?

Hi Stephen,
For me the jury is still out on the extent of SRA. I think it is easy to swing to extremes on this---to fall into hysteria and confabulation on one side--and to believe that every possible case that presents itself is an example of demonic involvement and generational abuse.
I believe there can be demonic involvement on either extreme, because wouldn't the enemy love to whip up lies and hysteria and false accusations. And of course in those instances where people are doing these ghastly things--and I do not deny they are--of course the enemy's mask is off in those cases.
I wish you all the best in finding healing and wholeness in Christ. I would encourage you to focus on your new identity in Him though and not try to wend your way back through the labyrinth of your old man and all the wounds. The Holy Spirit will reveal to you what you need to see. You do not have to go on "search and destroy" missions on your own. Focus on who you are in Christ, in God's promises and you'll find Him lifting you free of your past.
